“The Pompeii guided tour was superb. The tour was conducted by a local guide who was formerly an archeologist. Her explanations were easy to understand, her english was very good and the audio headsets worked well. Caution: The tour description says it goes along the Amalfi coast. In our case it didn't, it stopped short, in Sorrento. Sorrento is a lovely place, though, just not Amalfi. Also, the bus had a lot to be desired - the air conditioning was inconsistent; being a sight seeing tour, visibility was unsatisfactory, especially for those in the rear seat (4 passengers of which I was one) who had no windows at all, and…”

We had a very nice lunch and then had ample time in Pompeii with the guide showing us the highlights and excellent information. “If you only have 1 day to spend, South of Rome, this is an excellent value. You should see this part of Italy. Scenery is gorgeous, Pompeii is awesome and the guide was informative. The van was a little rickety for a 3 hour drive there and 3 hours back. There was plenty of time for Pompeii, but a little rushed in Positano. But there's only so much you can get in a day!”
